Meet Debbie Mullan
"My introduction to counselling was as a fairly desperate, depressed first time mother. I was very reluctant initially to talk to someone I didn't know about the dark, hard places I was experiencing at that time. Perhaps she would make me feel worse about myself or tell me to 'try harder'? But counselling quickly became a lifeline and I found it a safe place in a difficult time to be understood and to work out what I needed.
In my own life, and my clients lives, I am continually amazed by how powerful the simple things are: feeling valued and accepted, being heard and understood.
They are simple things but often scarce and when we really experience them in a relationship, (therapeutic or otherwise) it can be transformative.
That is what I am passionate about providing at Solace: a safe place where you can be heard, valued, understood. A place where you can be curious about the 'why' of what's hard in your life and the 'how' of making it better."
